Nuthurst village is one of several distinct hamlets within the parish of Nuthurst, which comprises Maplehurst, Mannings Heath, Copsale, Monks Gate and Sedgwick, all immediately south east of Horsham.

Evidence of the existence of a church here goes back to around 1130, although it is likely a place of worship was on the site long before then.

The inside of the church was much restored by the Victorians and contains some lovely modern glass.

The village of Nuthurst also has some attractive 16th century buildings, including the timber framed Black Horse Inn.
