Nuthurst is a village and parish 40 miles from London, and 4 south of Horsham, in Singlecross hundred, rape of Bramber, with 3,460 acres, and a population, in 1841, of 768. The Income Tax assessment, in 1842, was £1,895. The benefice is a rectory, in the patronage of the Bishop of Chichester; the Rev. John Ommany McCoroger, M.A., is curate. The church is small and very ancient.

Post Office - Cruze Shaw, receiver. Letters, through Horsham, arrive 7am. Box closes at 7pm.
