Mayfield, (East Sussex)

Parish picture

St Dunstan's Church, Mayfield. The earliest part of the present structure is Norman.

Parish picture

Mayfield, like many Sussex towns, suffers the invasion of the motor car to its ancient high street! However the buildings still testify to its long history.

Parish picture

St Dunstan, the great Saxon Archbishop of Canterbury built himself a home next to his wooden church at Mayfield. This became a great palace and is now a Catholic Convent and girl's school. This picture of the convent was taken from St Dunstan's church yard.
