In the name of God Amen I Richard Hutchinson of the town and port of Hastings in the county of Sussex mariner being of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding (thanks be given to Almighty God for the same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say), First I direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses and the charges of proving this my will be paid and discharged by my executrix herein after named and I do hereby subject and charge all my real and personal estate with the payment thereof accordingly, and subject thereto. I give, devise and bequeath unto my dear wife Mary – all and singular my real and personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the same may be that I shall be possessed of at the time of my decease to hold the same and every part thereof unto her my said wife Mary, her heirs and executors administrators and assigns absolutely and for ever. And lastly I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my said wife Mary, sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I the said Richard Hutchinson have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand and eight hundred.
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Richard Hutchinson the testator on and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
