WHITEHALL, November 23, 18G8. The Queen has been pleased to grant unto Benjamin Tillstone Rogers, of Moulsecombe Place, in the parish of Patcham, in the county of Sussex, Esq. , eldest son and heir of John Jeffries Rogers, late of Worthing, in the said county, Gentleman, and Jane, his wife, one of the daughters of John Monkhouse, late of New Shoreham, also in the said county, by Jane, his wife, who was the eldest sister of Benjamin Tillstoue, late of Moulsecombe Place aforesaid, all deceased, Her Royal licence and authority that he and his issue may, in compliance with a proviso contained in the last will and testament of his maternal great uncle the said Benjamin Tillstone, take and henceforth bear the surname of Tillstone in addition to and after that of Rogers, and that he and they may bear the arms of Tillstone quarterly, in the first quarter, with his and their own family arms; such arms being first duly exemplified according to the laws of arms, and recorded in the College of Arms, otherwise the said Royal licence and permission to be void and of none effect: And to command that the said Royal concession and declaration be recorded in Her Majesty's said College of Arms.
