Will of John Durrant of Buxted

In the name of God Amen I John Durrant of Buxted in the County of Sussex yeoman being of sound mind memory and understanding (praised be God) do this thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two make publish and declare my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. I give devise and bequeath unto my son John Durrant now living with me all my goods household goods stock both quick and dead husbandry tackling moneys securities for money chattels and effects whatsoever and wheresoever to hold to my said son John Durrant his executors and administrators forever and I make constitute and appoint my said son John Durrant whole and sole executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made do declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. John Durrant his (X) mark

Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Durrant the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. Sarah Budd, Thos Budd, Jos’s Smith

The Will of John Durrant late of Buxted within the Deanary of Southmalling in the County of Sussex yeoman deceased was proved the tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty two before the Reverend Robert Austin, Clerk, Surrogate and so forth upon the oath of John Durrant the sole executor in the said Will named to whom was commited the administration of the goods &c he being first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and so forth. Sworn also that the goods chattels and credits of the deceased do not amount unto three hundred pounds
