Will of Joane Gratwick of West Grinstead

In the name of God Amen I JOANE GRATWICKE of WEST GRINSTED in the Countie of Sussex widdow make this my last Will and Testament First I bequeath my Soule into the Hands of Almightie God

Also I give and bequeath unto my Sonne JOHN GRATWICKE Tenne shillings And unto MARY his nowe wife Tenne shillings

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter ELIZABETH Five Poundes of Lawfull money of England

Also I give and bequeath unto my Sonne WILLIAM the Five Poundes I have already delivered unto him, And I also give unto the said WILLIAM One Feather bedd Together with one blankett and one boulster and Two shirtinge clouthes

Also I give and bequeath unto my Sonne PHILLIP GRATWICKE Five Poundes, one Feather bedd, One boulster and one blankett and One Coverlett to be paid and delivered unto him when hee attaines unto the Age of Eightteene. And my Will is that the Interest of the said Five Poundes shall bee in the meane tyme halfe yearely paied unto the said PHILLIP. And I also give unto the said PHILLIP Two shirteinge Cloathes

Also I give and bequeath unto my said daughter ELIZABETH my Wedding Ringe

Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter JANE Fortie Pounds in money

And all my Goods and Chattells not hereby before bequeathed * And I make my said daughter JANE Executrix of this my last Will and Testament And I appointe and make my said Sonne JOHN GRATWICKE Overseer of this my Will And I desire him to take upon him the Execus[i]on thereof dureinge the Minoritie of the said JANE

In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale dated the Eleaventh day of September in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand Sixe Hundred Fiftie Eight / JOANE GRATWICKE her marke / Sealed and Published in the presence of LE DENYER WILLIAM GRATWICKE

This Will was Proved att London Before the Judges for Probate of Wills and granting Administrac[i]ons lawfully authorized The Eighteenth day of Aprill In the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Sixe hundred and Sixtie By the Oaths of JOANE GRATWICKE the n[atu]rall and Lawfull daughter and sole Executrix named in the Will To whom Administrac[i]on of all and singular the goods ch[att]ells and Debts of the said dec[ease]d was Committed, Shee beinge First sworne by Comission truely to Administer the same .
