In the Name of God Amen JOHN SHERWOOD of WEST GREENESTED in the County of Sussex being sick of Body but of good memory made this his last will and Testament in manner and form following

Item I give and bequeath unto my three Children JOHN, ROBERT & SUSAN Fifty pounds to Each of them And to my Childe which my wife is great of unborne Fifty pounds And further my mind and will is That if my wife doe happen to be marryed unto another man Then my Sonne JOHN to have my farme and my Shopp and Tooles belonging thereunto provided that the Tooles being prissed the parte thereof to be abated out of his Fifty pound before given Further my mind is That if RICHARD HAYLER doe teach and instruct my Sonn JOHN in the Trade of a Blacksmithaccording to his best skill then my wife shall give unto him Five pound

Item I give unto MICHAELL PARSON my apprentice Forty shillings if hee serve out his time according to his Indentures And my minde is that SUSAN my loving wife shall be Sole Executor of this my last will and Testament And I doe appoynt JOHN SLATHER and JOHN WOOLLVEN To be overseers of this my will made the seaventh day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and Two Wittnesses DENIS KNIGHT his marke URSULA PAINTER her marke URSULA KNIGHT her marke

This Will was proved at London before The right Worshippfull Sir Nathaniel Brent Lnight Docto[r] of Lawe &c the fourth day of November in the yeare of our Lord One Thousand Six Hundred Fifty and two by the Oath of SUSANNA SHERWOOD the relict and Executrix of the last will and Testament of the said deceased to whome was Comitted Administration of the goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased she being first Sworne by virtue of A Commission truly to Administer &c
