Whitehall, November 30, 1805. WHereas it has been humbly represented to the King, that early in the Morning of the 24th Instant, William Baker, late Game Keeper to the Right Honorable Lord Selsey, was shot dead in his Lordship's Woods, called Bridgers Ditches, in the Parish of West Dean, in the County of Sussex, by some evil-minded Person in Company with others; His Majesty, for the better apprehending and bringing to Justice the Persons concerned in such an atrocious Act, is hereby pleased to promise His most gracious Pardon to any one or more of them (except the Person who actually shot the deceased, who shall discover his or their Accomplice or Accomplices therein, so that he or they may be apprehended and convicted thereof. HAWKESBURY. And, as a further Encouragement, a Reward of FIFTT GUINEAS is hereby offered by Lord Selsey, to any Person or Persons making such Discovery as aforesaid, (except the Person who actually shot the Deceased, ) to be paid on Conviction of any One or more of the Offenders.
