Will of Robert Lusher of Ringmer

In the name of God Amen the tenth day of June one thousand six hundred thirtie nyne and in the fifteenth year of the raigne of our souveraigne Lord Charles by the grace [of God] of England Scotland France and Ireland King defendor of the faith etc I Robert Lusher of Ringmer in the countie of Sussex yeoman being sicke in bodie but of p[er]fecte remembrance thanks be to the Allmighty God doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge

First I give and bequeath my soule unto the Allmighty God my maker and unto Jesus Christ my redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Littell Horsted Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Edward Lusher my brother twentie poundes to be paied to him by my executor within nyne monthes nexte after my decease and the said twentie pounds soe given to my brother Edward to be distributed amongst his children after his decease

Item I give and bequeath unto Richard Lusher my brother thirtie pounds of lawfull mony of England to be paied to him by my executor within nyne months nexte after my decease and the said thirtie pounds soe given to Richard my brother my will is that it should be equally divided amongst his children after his decease

Item I give and bequeath unto John Lusher my brother thirtie poundes of like lawfull mony of England to be paied to him by my executor within nyne monethes nexte after my decease and the said thirtie pounds soe given to John my brother my will and mynd is that tenn poundes of it should be equally divided betweene his children after his decease Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Putland the wife of Elias Putland my sister fifteene poundes of lawfull mony of England which said fifteene poundes my executor shall keep in his handes and to paie the use of it unto my said sister Anne Putland towards the bringinge upp of her children and after her decease my will is my executor should paie it equallie amongst her children as they shall come to the age of one and twentie yeares Provided allwaies my will and mynde is that twentie pounds of the said thirtie poundes given to John my brother my will and mynde is it should be for a porcon for Robert Lusher sonne of the said John my godson

Item I give and bequeath to the poor people of Ringmer to be distributed amongst them within one month nexte after my decease by the discretion of my executor hereafter named Item I give to the wife of William Marchant five shillings to be paied to her by my executor within one month nexte after my decease

Item I give and bequeath to Marie Lusher my kinswoman five shillings to be paied to her by my executor when shee shall accomplish the age of one and twentie yeares Item I give to the poor people of the parrish of Little Horsted tenn shillings to be paied to them by the discretion of my executor the nexte Saboath daie after my decease

All the residue of my goodes and chattells not given nor bequeathed I give and bequeath unto William Lusher my brother whom I make my full and sole executor of this my last will and testament my funeral to discharge my debts and legacies for to pay and my will to fulfill And in witness whereof I have sett to my hand and seale the daie and yeare first above written, Robert Lusher his mark Sealed signed in the presence of John Shephard and Edward Wiskey
