In the name of God Amen the thirtith day of March Ano Dmi one thousand six hundred seaventy & nine I Stephen Bottinge of Westgrinsteed in the County of Sussex yeom beinge weake in body butt of good & pfect remembrance laud & praise bee given to Almighty God doe make & ordaine this my last Will & Testamt in mann’r & forme followinge. Impris I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my maker & Jesus Christ my saviour and redeemer trustinge in his merritts to bee saved. Itm I give unto my eldest son John the sum of four pounds & three shills to bee paid to him att a twelve months end. Itm I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth ye sum of six pound & three shills to bee pd att ye time above said. Itm I give & bequeath unto my son Francis the sum of six pound & three shills to bee paid to him att ye time above sd. Itm I give & bequeath my Stephen Bottinge ye sum of six pound & three shills to bee paid him when hee shall accomplish ye age of one & twenty yeares. Itm I give to my daughter Anne ye sum of eleven pound & three shills to bee paid att ye age of one & twenty yeares or the day of marriage wch shall happen first. Itm I give & bequeath unto my son Thomas ye sum of fifteen pound & three shills to bee paid him att ye age of one & twenty yeares. Itm I give & bequeath unto my son Edw to bee paid att ye age of one & twenty years ye sum of fifty pounds & three shills. Itm I give to my overseers Jo: Linfeild, John Gratwicke & Edward Barber full power & authority to sell all my lands called Keyes & household stuffe & out doore goods chattell & all & all mann’r of goods lands & stock which belonges to mee ye sd Stephen Bottinge & to pay such debts as there is owinge & ye rest to bee given amongst my children accordinge to my Will here subscribed & if any of ye children of ye said Stephen Bottinge should dy then the rest shalbe distributed amongst them equally.
