Iden is a parish 2 ¼ miles north from Rye, in the hundred of Goldspur, rape of Hastings, containing 542 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Lewes, diocese of Chichester, value £753 per annum, in the patronage and incumbency of the Rev. G. A. Lamb, D.D. The church is dedicated to All Saints. Here is a place of worship for Wesleyan Methodists. The Royal Military Canal and the river Rother run through this parish. The area is 3,120 acres, and assessed to the Income Tax at £5,672.
