Notes: The Times, March 29th 1950 - The dilapidated state of the originally fine octagonal smock mill at Staplecross, north of Hastings, can be seen in this staff photographer's picture taken yesterday. A well-known landmark for a wide area, the mill is in danger of collapse, and an appeal for repairs has been made to the Society for the Preservation of Ancient Buildings.
