Harrison's description (1911):

ST. MARY. Restored in 1857. The church is Perp., and (as many other churches in the district) has a fine shingled spire. It is a large building, with some old stained glass and a brass to John Wybarne and his two wives (1490). Each chantry has a piscina. The room (parvies) over the N. porch, with a stout oak door, was formerly used as a prison. Note: magnificent font canopy (15th c.) with flamboyant tracery and folding doors; octagonal font (restored); squint. The porch has the Etchingham arms.
