First castellated chapel on adjacent site c. 1820 subsequently became a school. The second building (1865 by Hadfield & Son of Sheffield, Early English Gothic Revival of stone with a western bellcote) was closed in 1923 and was in commercial use in 1981, but has subsequently been demolished. The third building was erected between 1919 and 1923 on the opposite side of Springfield road (opposite the Congregational Church).
