Thomas Botting – the Testator

Thomas was buried in West Grinstead on 10 June 1612. Was he the Thomas Botting who made a deposition before the Church Court in 1598, in connection with the Will of Thomas Soper of Wiston? That Thomas stated that he was a husbandman of West grin stead, where he had lived for 30 years. Before that he had lived in Hurst [Billingshurst?] for about 3 years, and he had been born in Nuthurst. He was aged 60 ie born about 1538.

John Botting – Son of the Testator

He was probably the John son of Thomas of Jowels Feeld baptised in West Grinstead on 25 March 1580

Richard Botting – Son of the Testator

Richard was Thomas’ youngest son. He was probably the Richard son of Thomas Botting of Jowels Field baptised in West Grinstead on 14 July 1584

Richard & Ann Bangor

Ann was baptised in Horsham on14 August 1608, baseborn daughter of Jane Bangor.

Richard was baptised in Horsham on 11 April 1612, son of Richard Bottinge and Jane Bangor. He was described as ‘baseborn’.

Were they both children of Richard Botting, and was he the son of this Testator?
