Will of John Brooker of Worthing

In the name of God Amen the one and thirtieth day of March in the third year of the reign of our Sovereign Lady Anne by the Grace of God of England Scotland and Ireland Queen defender of the faith &c Annoq Dni 1704 I John Brooker of Worth in the County of Sussex being sick in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to Almighty God doe make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God in sure hopes of eternall life in by and through the meritts of our Lord Jesus Christ who dyed for my sins and roase for my justification. And my body to be decently buried at the discrecon of my executor hereafter menconed. And for my worldly goods I thus dispose them. Impris I give unto Susann my wife five pounds a year during her naturall life to be paid to her by my executor hereafter menconed. Impris I give unto my son Thomas Brooker the sume of five pounds to be paid to him two years after my decease. Impris I give unto my son Edward Brooker the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him two years after my decease. Impris I give unto my daughter Elizabeth Brooker the sume of twenty pounds to be paid to her four years after my decease. Impris I give unto my son John Brooker all my goods cattell and cattells my funerall expences being satisfied by him and other legacies aforesaid. And do make him my whole executor of this my last Will and Testament to performe. In witness hereof I have sett my hand and seale the day and year first above written. (the marke of John Brooker)

(In Latin)The Will of John Brooker late of Worth in the Archdeaconry of Lewes deceased was proved 22 October 1705 before the Rev Thomas Whalley, Clerk, Surrogate by John Brooker the son of the deceased & executor named in the said Will to whom admon was granted &c.
