Will of Michaell Durrant of Chichester

Michaell Durrant of the Citty of Chichester in the County of Sussex being sicke and weake in body yet of good and pfecte remembrance did the night before his decease make declare and pronounce his last will and Testament nuncupative in the presence of Rich, George Lee and Anne Durrant his wife in manner and forme following or the like in effecte. First hee gave and bequeathed unto the said Anne Durrant his wife the benefitt use and p’fitt of one tenement of his in the West Street of the Citty of Chichester wth the garden and appurtenances thereunto belonging lately taken of the Deane and Chapter of Chichester for by and during the whole terme of eight yeares from and immediately after his decease. And after the sayd terme of eight yeares shalbee expired and determined then his mynde and will was that the sayd tenement garden and appurtenances together wth the lease thereof should come and remayne unto Michaell Durrant and William Durrant his sonnes for by and during all the terme thereof then to come.

(Latin) Proved 13 March 1617before the Rev Hugh Barker, Doctor of Laws, Commissioner by Anne Durrant widow the relict and administrator of all and singular the goods and credits of the said Michael Durrant deceased .......... testament above written ................ and credits of the deceased .............. deceased ...............commit administration ...............all and singular ....... credits of the deceased ............... administration ................Thomas Durrant the natural son ..... of the deceased .................. testament above written .........

Notes about this will:

This Will is almost identical to the Will of Michaell Durrant of Chichester proved 26 June 1612. The only differences are the above ‘Rich’ is ‘Richard Rich’ in the 1612 Will and the probate is much longer. Unfortunately the probate has not copied at all well, I have picked out what words I could see. DW
