In the name of God Amen Daniel Durantt of the parish of St Peters the Great als Subdeanery in the City of Chichester and County of Sussex & blacksmith being weak of body but of sound mind & memory thanks be to God for it doe hereby make my last Will and Testament. Imprimis I give my soul and recommend it to Almighty God hoping for the remission of all my sins to the merrits of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ. Item I give unto my wife Jane Durant all my messuages tenements lands goods and chattells moneys debts leases and all other my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever recomending and desireing my said wife Jane for the good of my children not to marry againe after my decease. Item I desire and order my said wife Jane to be carefull and tender to my poor and infirme daughter Mary Durant. Item I desire in case my wife Jane shall not have spent what I leave her that she doe at the time of her death give and dispose of the same to my two daughters Mary Durant and Ann Steed equally to be divided between them in testimoney hereof I the said Daniel Durant have hereunto sett my hand and seal this two and twentieth day of January in the second year of the reigne of our Soveraigne Lord George the Second and of the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred twenty eight.
