In N. aisle, note: beautiful late Nor. arch, ornamented with chevron, and piers with foliated capitals; at W. end small Nor. window; on exterior, the stonework, showing that roof was raised when the Perp. windows were inserted. N. transept has lancet windows and (restored) Nor. arches to chancel. In chancel are lancets on N. and S., opened at the restoration; piscina; sedilial squint from Ashburnham Chapel. This chapel and S. aisle have been restored. The E. window is also a restoration. Bishop Ashburnham is buried in this church. There is a monument with effigies to John Cheyney and his wife (1603).
