Will of John Rowse of Warbleton

Date signed: 13 Mar 1593, Probate date: 29 Apr 1594

In the name of God amen, I John ROWSE of Warbleton do make my will as followeth First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it beseeching him to receive it and to pardon my sins and my mind is to be buried in the churchyard of Warbleton

First I give to my daughter Alice one black heifer bullock and the cupboard a great platter two pewter dishes a porringer all of pewter a saucer one candlestick a deep kettle of brass two pairs of sheets one blanket one coverlet black and white one bolster a down pillow covered with fustian two chests the best four milkbowls a capcase a pillowcote two kershaws a key bunch a pair of silver hooks a pin of silver.

Item I give to my daughter Susan 3s 4d to be paid within one quarter of a year after my decease. All the rest I do give to my wife Rose that is ungiven away whom I make my executrix.

Item I give to my wife my house wherein I dwell and the lands thereunto belonging for six years for the bringing up of my two children and afterwards to my son Willyam.

And I appoint my overseers Edward NABBE and Abraham ROUSE to whom 1 give 12d apiece for their pains and this is my last will and testament made the fourteenth day of March in the thirty-fourth year of our sovereign lady queen Elizabeth.

Item I give to Roger ELYETT 17s.6d and 16d for tithes.

Item I give 16d to Richard GLIDD

Also I give to Alice my daughter a double rail and a key bunch which Thomas GASKINGE hath to keep for her
