Will of Joane Pettar of Warbleton

Date signed: 19 Nov 1591, Probate date: 01 Feb 1592

This is the last will and testament of Joane Pettar of Warbleton in the county of Sussex made and delivered the day and year aforesaid.

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Edward Helye Marye Helye Joane Heley Increased Heley Syndeny Helye and Constance Helye the children of Thomas Helye of Warbleton aforesaid clerk to each one of them £10 of money to be paid to them by my executor so soon as they shall accomplish their several ages of twenty one years or at the day of their marriage the which of the two shall first happen and come to pass and if any of the said parties depart this life before the time aforesaid then my will is that the portion or portions of the party or parties deceased shall remain unto the survivors of the aforesaid equally to be divided between them.

Item I give unto Thomas Helye John Helye Muchmercy Helye und Fearnot Helye children of the aforesaid Thomas Helye to every one of them 40s of good money to be paid to them at such time as is above expressed and if any of the four last named sons depart this life before the time limited for ….. of their portions to be accomplished then I will that the survivors of them equally to be divided amongst them.

Also I give to the foresaid Joane my table with the frame. And all my other household stuff I give and bequeath unto all the foresaid daughters of the foresaid Thomas Helye equally to be divided amongst them.

All the rest of my goods my debts and legacies performed I give unto Thomas Hely my son-in-law whom I make sole executor of this my last will and testament and I appoint overseer my loving friend and cousin Robte Wood.
