WE, your Majesty's dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Mayor, Jurats, and Commonalty, and other Inhabitants of the ancient Town of Winchelsea, in the County of Sussex, beg Leave to approach your Majesty with every Sentiment of Loyalty and Attachment, and to assure your Majesty, that, at this Time of threatened Invasion, your Majesty may, with Confidence, rely on our strenuous Exertions to repel the daring Attempts of an implacable Enemy, and by every Means in our Power to assist in maintaining and preserving the Honor of your Majesty's Crown and Dignity, and our happy Constitution as established in Church and State. Signed in the Name, and at the Request of the Meeting, this Twenty-second Day of July One thousand eight hundred and three, Thos. Morten, Deputy Mayor.
