Notes:

To the KING's Most Excellent Majesty, The humble Address of the Mayor, Jurats, Freemen and Principal Inhabitants of the ancient Town of Winchelsea, in the County of Sussex. WE, your Majesty's dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Mayor, Jurats, Freemen and Principal Inhabitants of the ancient Town of Winchelsea, beg Leave to offer our most sincere Congratulations on your Majesty's Escape from the late Outrage offered to your Royal Person in the Discharge of your public Duty. In the Midst of our just Concern and Indignation, we consider this Attack as more immediately directed against our excellent Constitution than against the Person of your Majesty, whose public and private virtues are universally respected; We hope that the Authors and Abettors of this atrocious Act may be speedily known and punished, and that, through the Favour of Divine Providence, your Majesty may long continue to bless and protect, and to be blessed and protected by your faithful and loyal Subjects. Signed, at the Guildhall of the ancient Town of Winchelsea, this 16th Day of November, in the Year of our Lord 1795. [Presented by Richard Barwell, Esq; and Lieutenant-Colonel Addington, Representatives in Parliament for the said Town. }.
