Will of Robert Barnard of West Chiltington

In the name of God amen the Six and Twentieth day of December and in the Twentieth yeare of our sov[er]aigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of god Kinge of England and Scotland France and Irelandd defen[er] of the Faith Annoq[ue] D[om]ini 1668 I ROBERT BARNARD the elder of the parrih of CHILTINGTON in the County of Sussex yeoman beinge sick in body but of good p[er]fect remembrance thankes be given to god therefore as to worldly matters doe make thismy last Will and Testament in manner and forme Following

Imprimis I give to my eldest sonne ROBERT BARNARD one shilling to be paid within one yeare after my decease

Item I give to my sonne DANIEL one shilling to be paid within one yeare after my decease

Item I give to my daughter SEUSAN the wife of ROBERT JOHNSON one shilling to be paid within one yeare after my decease

Item I give to my daughter SARAH the wife of JOSEPH BARNES the sume of Twenty shillings to be paid within one yeare after my decease

Item I give to my sonne EDMOND the sum[m]e of One hundred pounds to be paid when he shall come to the Age of one and Twenty yeares

Item I give to my youngest daughter MARY the sume of Forty pounds to be paid when shee shall come to the Age of one and Twenty yeares or att her day of marriage which shall first happen

And my will and meaning s that if any of the my two Children EDMOND and MARY shall happen to dye and depart out of this Mortall life before they doe accomplish the Age of one and Twenty yeares or the dayof payment then the portion and stock of him or her soe dyeing shall be ad remaine good due payable to other of them which is living and surviveing and my Will is that my Executor hereafter menc[i]oned shall the use and intrest have of EDMOND and MARY stocks towards the maintaining and brnging upp of them untill the come to the Age of one and twenty years

Item I give to my youngest sonn JOHN one shilling

Item all the rest of my goods Cattell housold money or money worth whatsoever I give and bequeath unto SARAH my wife whome I make and ordaine whole Executor of this my last Will and\Testament shee discharging my Funerall and paying my debts and Legacies and I appoint THOMAS NORMAN and JOHN EDSALL both of this parrish of CHILTINGTON to be Overseers of this my last Will and Testament and to have their lawfull Charges bourne by my Executor In Witness whereof I the said ROBERT BARNARD have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the day and yeare above written ROBERT BARNARD Witnesses hereunto EDMOND SAYRES THOMAS NORMAN
