In the name of God Amen I RICHARD NASH of the Parish of WEST CHILTINGTON in the County of Sussex yeoman being in good health of body & p[er]fect mind & memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same yet considering the certainty of my death & the uncertainty of the time when I doe here make & ordaine this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme following First I comend my Soul into the hands of God trusting in & through the merits of Jesus Christ my only Saviour & Redeemer & my body to the Earth to be buried in Christian burial & as to my temporall Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in Lands Goods & Chattells I doe here dispose thereof as followeth

Imprimis I give & bequeath to SUSAN my dear & loving Wife the full sum of Fifty pounds to be paid her in lawfull money of Great Britain within Six Months after my decease

Item I doe here give & bequeath to my loving Brother JOHN NASH of HITCHINGFIELD Five shillings

Item I doe here give will & devise all my Freehold messuage House Barne Hovell & Lands called SOLE LAND or by whatsoever other name or names the same or my part thereof are called or knowne by situate lying & being in the Parishes of WEST CHILTINGTON & THAKEHAM in the said County of Sussex together with all & every the Lands Tenements Hereditaments & appurtun[anc]es thereto the same belonging or appertaining to my Kinsman JOHN NASH of THAKEHAM aforesaid Son of my Brother JOHN NASH of HITCHINGFIELD to him the said JOHN NASH of THAKEHAM & to his heires & assignes forever And I doe here will that my Kinsman JOHN NASH of THAKEHAM may enjoy it quietly & peaceably according to this my Will & that he may I doe here give to him all my Deeds Writings Evidences & Conveyances touching & concerning all th’aforesaid Lands & p[re]mises

Item I doe here give will & devise all that my Messuage house situate lying & being in the parish & Towne of HORSHAM adjoyning to the lands & Orchard of WALSINGHAM MICHELL gent[leman] together with the Two Gardens & to Orchards there to the said Messuage house with all th’app[ur]tun[an]c[e]s there to the same belonging or apperteyning to ELIZABETH DENDY the now Wife of JOHN DENDY of HORSHAM during her life And after my Kinswoman ELIZABETH DENDYs decease to MARGARET GREENFEILD Daughter of WILLIAM GREENFEILD of WESSONS in the parish of HITCHINGFEILD aforesaid To her the said MARGARET GREENFEILD & to her heires & assignes forever Item I doe here give all my Deeds Writings & Evidences of my said messuage house to WILLIAM GREENFEILD Father of the said MARGARETT to keep them for her until she shall come to the age of One & Twenty years & then to deliver them up to her

Item I doe here give & bequeath to WILLIAM GREENFEILD son of th’aforesaid WILLIAM GREENFEILD the full sum of Thirty Pounds to be paid to him in lawfull money of Great Britain when he shall come to the age of One & Twenty years

Item I give & bequeath to SARAH NASH Daughter of my Brother JOHN NASH the full sum of Threescore poundes of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to her within Six months after my Decease

Item I give & bequeath to RICHARD NASH Son of my aforesaid Brother JOHN NASH the full sum of Forty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to him within Six months after my Decease

Item I give & bequeath to ANNE NASH th’eldest Daughter of my Brother WILLIAM NASH the full sum of Thirty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to her within Six months after my Decease

Item I give & bequeath to MARY NASH the youngest Daughter of my Brother WILLIAM NASH & now Wife of DANIEL STEDMAN the full sum of Fifty pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to her within Six months after my Decease

Item I give & bequeath to JOHN NASH Son of my Brother WILLIAM NASH One Shilling and I doe here give him no more because he sold his rev[er]sion of his mothers land & spent the money & his Father must have come to the Parish for relief had not I supported him & hope[?] him both to money & Cattell

Item I give & bequeath to WILLIAM NASH Son of my Brother WILLIAM NASH the full sum of Forty shillings a year during his natural life to be paid to him by my Executor half yearly for to Cloath him & for such things as my Executor shall think fitt that he wants And if my Kinsman WILLIAM NASH doe not like of the Forty Shillings a year here given him & is not satisfied & shall put my Executor to any trouble or charge of Suite That then I doe here revoke the Forty Shillings a year here given to him & to be no more paid to him

Item I give & bequeath to my Dear Wife all the goods that she brought with her and I doe here make & ordaine my Kinsman JOHN NASH of THAKEHAM whole & sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament to whom after my Debts Legacies & funeral expences together with the Probate of this my Will is satisfyed & paid I doe here give to my said Executor All moneys due & owing to me at my Decease be it upon Book Bill Bond or Mortgage or any otherwise whatsoever And all the rest residue & remainder of my Goods & chattels & p[er]sonall Estate whatsoever & wheresoever to be found In Witness whereof I the said RICHARD NASH have here unto this my last Will & Testament sett my hand & seale this One & Thirtieth Day of March in the second year of the reigne of our sov[er]eigne Lord George of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the faith &^c Annoq[ue] D[omi]ni 1716 – RICHARD NASH his mark & seal – signed sealed Published & Declared by the said RICHARD NASH to be his last Will & Testament in the p[re]sence of us who did all of us subscribe our names as Witnesses in the p[re]sence of the said Testator – EDM[UND] NORMAN THOMAS BARNES ELIZABETH DUFFELL JOYCE ROSE
