In the name of God Amen the sixteenth day of September in the sixth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George second by the Grace of God of Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord God One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty two. I, John Marchant of Streat in the County of Sussex, yeoman, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God therefore, calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in writing in the following manner and form. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of God that give it, and for my body I recommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian and decent manner at the discretion of my executor hereafter named, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the might power of God, and as touching such worldly estate, wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life. I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, Imprimis. I will that my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid and discharged by my executor hereafter named.

Item: I do hereby give and bequeath unto my well beloved kinsman John Box of Aburn in the county of Sussex, yeoman, the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto him, his heirs and assigns, by my executor, hereafter named, within six months after my decease;

Item: I do hereby give and devise unto my beloved kinsman Jesse Attree above herein named, one piece of land called Whitners being by estimation three acres more or less to him and his heirs (lawfully begotten on the body of Elizabeth his wife above named) and assigns for ever; Item: I do hereby give and devise unto my well beloved Kinsman Jesse Attree above herein named one piece of land called or known by the name of Duckmead containing by estimation four acres more or less (being copyhold land and being surrendered to the use of my last will and testament before the date hereof) to him and his heirs (lawfully begotten on the body of Elizabeth his wife above named) and assigns for ever;

Item: I do also hereby give and bequeath unto the above named Jesse Attree that house and barns and parcel of land called Morants being by estimation thirty acres more or less with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him and his heirs (lawfully begotten on the body of Elizabeth his wife above named) and assigns for ever. Also I do hereby give and devise unto the above named Jesse Attree one piece of lease land lying in Streat called Lynk acre to him and his heirs (lawfully begotten on the body of Elizabeth his wife above named) and assigns for ever, and lastly all the rest and residue of my goods and chattels and personal estate whatsoever I do hereby give and bequeath unto my beloved kinsman Jesse Attree above named whom I do likewise make, ordain, constitute and appoint my full and sole executor of this my last will and testament and I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all former wills and testaments whatsoever by me heretofore made, ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said John Marchant have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.
