Will of Siderick Elgar of Steyning

This is the last Will and Testament of me Siderick Elgar of Steyning in the County of Sussex Mercer ffirst I give and bequeath unto my Wife Elizabeth Elgar and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life one Annuity or yearly Sum of two hundred pounds of lawful money current in England to be paid to her by my Executors hereinafter named by two equal half yearly payments on the fifth day of July and the fifth day of January and the first payment thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall first and next happen after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife Elizabeth Elgar all my household ffurniture and Implements of Household Plate Linen and China Also I give and bequeath unto my Son Thomas Elgar the Legacy or Sum of four hundred pounds of lawful money current in England to be paid or retained by him within six Months after my decease and after and subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral and Testamentary Expences And also after and subject to the Payment of the said Annuities and Legacy I give and bequeath one Moiety or equal half part of all the rest and residue of my Monies effects and Personal Estate unto my said Son Thomas Elgar and his Executors & Admors and the other Moiety or equal half part thereof unto my daughter Elizabeth Marshall and her Executors & Admors And in case my said Son and daughter or either of them shall die in my life time and have lawful Issue of his her or their Body or respective Bodies lawfully begotten living at my death The I direct that such respective Issue shall take equally and amongst them respectively if more than one the Moiety or half part to which his her or their Parent or respective Parents would have been entitled if living And I do hereby nominate constitute and Appoint my said Son Thomas Elgar and my Son in Law William Marshall joint Executors of this my Will And lastly I revoke all former Wills by me made In Testimony whereof I the said Siderick Elgar the |Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and Seal the fourth day of August in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Siderick Elgar
