Will of Ann Penfold of Steyning

I Ann Penfold Spinster of Steyning in the County of Sussex make this my last Will and Testament in manner following I give and bequeath unto John Aldock Clement Son of my Sister late Mary Clement the sum of Two hundred & fifty pounds three per Cents Reduced Stocks for ever And I give and bequeath unto Mary Ann Clement Daughter of my late Sister Mary Clement the sum of ffifty pounds three per Cents Reduced Stock for ever if the said Mary Ann Clement should be living at the time of my decease if not to her Brother John Clement in addition to his above Legacy of Two hundred & fifty pounds three per Cent Reduced Stock and I give and bequeath Unto Thomas Penfold Clement Son of my late Sister Mary Clement the Sum of Two hundred pounds three Pr Cent Reduced Stock for ever I give unto my Nephew Richard Penfold Surgeon the sum of One hundred & fifty pounds three per Cent Reduced Stock for ever And I give and bequeath all my wearing apparel unto the Daughters of my Brother John Penfold Clerk viz Catherine Jane Penfold ffrances Esther Penfold Charlotte Charity Penfold and Mary Ann Penfold share and share alike And I give and bequeath unto my Brother Richard Penfold the sum of ffifteen hundred pounds four per Cents Stock for ever and One hundred pounds three Pr Cent Reduced Stock for ever together with all my household ffurniture Plate Linen and China that I may die possessed of after paying my ffuneral Expences And I give and bequeath unto my Brother John Penfold Clerk all the remainder of my Property in the ffunds for ever And hereby constitute and appoint my brother Richard Penfold sole Executor to this my last Will made and signed by me this ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Ann Penfold Spinster Whereas I have in and by my said Will dated the ninth day of July Eighteen hundred and twenty three bequeathed the sum of One hundred & fifty pounds three per Cent Reduced Stock unto my Nephew Richard Penfold which Legacy has become lapsed since his decease Now I do hereby bequeath the said sum of £150 unto my Nephew James Vowler Penfold Dated the twenty sixth day of ffebruary One thousand eight hundred & thirty _ The Mark X of Ann Penfold Witness _ Charlotte C Penfold _ Sarah Matthews _ At the request of Miss Ann Penfold
