His Majesty the KING has been graciously pleased to approve of the award of the Distinguished Conduct Medal to the undermentioned Warrant Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Men for gallantry and distinguished service in the Field :— G. /1192 Sjt. A. W. Trevor, D. C. M. , M. M. 7th Bn. , R. Suss. R. (Portslade). For conspicuous gallantry near Meaulte on 22nd August, 1918. At the first objective he showed great initiative in clearing up dugouts in which the enemy had collected, doing it all single-handed. On reaching the final objective, seeing a party of the enemy on his flank, he went off by himself and returned with one officer and fourteen other rank prisoners. From the commencement of operations his courage and devotion to duty has continually been brought to notice. (D. C. M. gazetted 5th December, 1918. ).
