With reference to the announcement of the undermentioned awards which appeared in the London Gazette of the 1st January, 1919, the following are the acts of gallantry for which the awards were made : DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL. 7433 B. /S. /M. E. Bathe, 28th Sge. By. , R. G. A. (Nr. Petworth, Sussex). From 25th February to 16th September, 1918. He has done exceptionally fine work, and has always shown the greatest devotion to duty. The battery has frequently been in very forward positions, and his behaviour under heavy shell fire and other trying circumstances has on all occasions been exemplary. His coolness and utter disregard of personal danger have been a splendid example to the men, and have had undoubtedly on several occasions a very marked effect on the service, of the guns and the general efficiency of the battery while in action.
