The fift of July 1621

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Winchester of the parrishe of Patcham in the County of Sussex yeoman being sicke of Body but perfect of memory (thanks bee unto God for it) Doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following First I Comend my selfe unto Almightye God my saviour and Redeemer And my Body to bee buried in the Churchyard of the parrishe o f Patcham I Doe make my wife Anne and my sonne Thomas Winchester my whole Executors by equall portion

Item I give unto Thomas my sonne all that parcell of Lands at Standtane in the parrishe of Dicheling

Item I give unto my sonne Thomas all that parcell of Lands in Clayton

Item I give unto Agnis my wife Five Pounds A yeare to bee paid out of my land at Standtane by my sonne Thomas During her life

Item I give unto Agnis my wife Five pounds A yeare out of that yard of Land Called Buckulls yard lying in Patcham aforesaid

Item I give unto Agnis my wife forty shillings by the yeare out of A house or A Tenement Called Carters house

Item I give unto my sonne Edward my house Called Carters house

Item I give unto my sonne Edward one hundred pounds To bee paid at the age of one and Twenty yeares by his brother Thomas

Item I give unto John my youngest sonne one yard of Land Called by the name of Buckulls and a Croft Called Carter Croft and forty weathers to stocke that Land

Item I give unto Elizabeth my Daughter one shilling to be paid at the Day of Death,

Item I give unto Agnis my Daughter one shilling to be paid at the Day of my Death

Item I give unto the aforesaid John my sonne Two kyne the one is at Edward Goffes of Hurst the other at one Milles his of Willcumbe

Item I give unto my brother John foure kyne the one is with Edward Recken of Hurst, and one with John Recken of Picombe and one with Edward Scrase of the same parrishe and one with Weller of the parrishe aforesaid Provided that these kine to bee sold and A stocke made for the aforesaid John During his life and after his Decease to his Children by my Overseers I give unto my brother John my wearing apparrell

Item I give unto my godchildren one ewe sheepe A peece to bee paid within one moneth after my Decease

Item I give to the poore of the parrishe of Patcham ten shillings to bee paid within one moneth after my Decease

Item I give to Annis Streater my servant Ten shillings to bee paid within one moneth after my Decease
