With, reference to the announcement of the undermentioned awards which appeared in the London Gazette of the 12th March, 1919, the following are the acts of gallantry for which the awards were made: AWARDED THE DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL. 5244 Sjt. A. Ensor, 6th Bn. , Leic R. (Hove, Brighton). During the attack on Vendegies-au-Boia on the morning of 23rd October, 1918, when all his company officers had become casualties, he took command of his company and handled them with exceptional judgment and tactical ability, finally obtaining his objective after having been held up by considerable enemy resistance. By his gallant and able leadership he undoubtedly assisted to the successful issue out of a difficult position.
