WHITEHALL, April 6, 1870. The Queen has been pleased to grant unto Charles Pym, of Lansdowne Place, in the parish of Hove, in the county of Sussex, Gentleman, fifth son of Francis Pym, late of The Hasells, in the parish of Sandy, in the county of Bedford, Esquire, deceased, Her Royal licence and authority that he and his issue may, in compliance with a clause contained in the last will and testament of Jenkyn Reading, late of Harpenden, in the county of Hertford, and of Wimpole Street, in the parish of St Marylebone, in the county of Middlesex, Esquire, deceased, assume, use, and hear the surname of Reading, in lieu of that of Pym, and bear the arms of Reading only; such arms being first duly exemplified according to the laws of arms, and recorded in the College of Arms, otherwise the said Royal licence and permission to be void and of none effect: And to command that the said Royal concession and declaration be recorded in Her Majesty's said College of Arms.
