In the name of God Amen The sixth day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand six hundred Sixty three I Phillip Jenden of Horseham in the County of Sussex Shoemaker beinge weake in body but of sound and pfect memory doe make this my last Will & Testament in manner & forme as followeth first I commend & comitt my Spiritt into the hands of the almighty God hopeinge & steadfastly beleivinge the pardon & remission of all my Sins & transgressions through the merritts of the death & passion of our Lord & saviour Jesus Christ and my body to the Earth to be decently buried by the discretion of my Exor hereafter named and as touching e my Worldly goods I will & bequeath as followeth Item I give & bequeath to Elizabeth my Loveinge Wife the best bed & bedstead wh all the apptances to that bed belonginge for her owne use & accommodation dureinge her naturall life Item I give more to my Wife the sum of ten pound to be paid within twelve months next after my decease Item I give to my daughter Jane the relict of Richard Luckins deceased the sum of ten pounds to bee paid by my Extor within twelve months next after my decease upon Condition if shee shall pay fifty pounds with the interest to John Mills & fifty pounds with the interest to Richard Linfeild & fifty pounds with the interest to George Terry soe my Extor be not sued for the same otherwise I give her but the sum of twelve pence to bee paid within twelve month next after my decease Item I give to my Daughter Sarah the Wife of Robert Johnson the Sum of one shillinge to bee paid by my Extor as aforesaid Item I give to my Daughter Susan the now wife of Mathew Dawe the Sum of ten pounds & to each of my Grand Children the Sum of two Shillings & Six pence to bee paid as aforesaid All the rest of my Goods & Chattells ready moneys & debts with that Bed & bedstead to my Wife for terme of Life bequeathed I give & bequeath to William Jenden my Son Whom I make my Whole& Sole Extor of this my last Will & Testamt and I intreat my Loveinge friend Phillip Michell to bee Overseer of this my Will and for his paines to be taken herein I give the Sum of five shilling In Witnesses whereof I have hereunto putt my hand & seale the day & year first above written
