In the name of God Amen the vii day of February i.... Anno Dni 1596 I Thomas Elliott of the pishe of Wisbroughe Green beinge sicke in bodye but well in pfect mynde and memorye thanks be geven to God doe make my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge. First I bequeath my soule into hands of Allmighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyarde of Horsham. Item I give unto my three sonnes William, Thomas and Nicholas fyftene pounds of good and lawfull money of England that is five pounds a pece of them the rest of my goods moveable and unmoveable my debts and legacies paide I geve unto Agnes my wyfe whom I make my whole executor and I appoynt Edward ... and Thomas Strudwicke of .... to be my overseers to see this my will to be pformed and they to have for theyre paines iiiis betweene them that is to say two shillings apeece of them and yf yt happen any of my sonns to dye before they come to age theyr parts to remayne unto the other. The debts wch is owinge unto me Francis Brooker of Billingshurst doth owe me fyve pounds tenn shillings dewe to be paide the nexte May Day.
