In the name of God Amen the five and twentieth day of August Anno Dni 1680 and in the two and thirtieth yeare of the raigne of our soverainge Lord Charles the Second by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith &c I Anne Dungate of Worth in the County of Sussex widdow being aged and weake but of good and perfect mind and memory (praise be given to God). And considering the frailty and uncertainty of this mortall life doe make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say). First and Principally I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker hopeing assuredly through his mercies and the onely meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to be made partaker of everlasting life. And my body unto Christian buriall. Item I give and bequeath unto the poore of the parish of West Hoadly in the said County of Sussex fourty shillings of lawfull money of England. Item I give and bequeath unto the poore of the parish of Worth aforesaid fourty shillings of lawfull money of England. Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Mary Milles thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto her sonne Robert Milles thirty pounds of lawfull money of England whereof he oweth me twenty pounds. Item I give and bequeath unto her sonne Nicholas Milles thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin William Feldwicke sonne of John Feldwicke thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be left in the hands of John Milles one of my executors hereafter named to the intent and purpose that he shall put out and dispose of the same to and for the best advantage of the said William Feldwicke untill he shall attaine his full age of one and twenty yeares. And then to be paid unto him the said William Feldwicke with what proffitt and advantage shalbe made thereof in case he the said William Feldwicke shall soe long live. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousins John Wicker, Anne Chaundler, Mary Wicker, Elizabeth Wicker and Katherine Wicker twenty pounds a peice of lawfull money of England to be paid unto them within one yeare next after my decease. And my mind and will is that if any of them shall happen to dye before his or her legacy shall become due and payable that then the same legacy shall be paid and equally devided betwixt the rest of his or her fellowes share and share alike. Item I give and bequeath unto my cousin Thomas Wicker all that my annuity issueing and goeing out of the lands of his uncle Robert Milles. Item I give and bequeath unto the said Anne Chaundler and Elizabeth Wicker my wearing apparell to be equally devided betwixt them share and share alike. Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Elizabeth Best thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto her sonne Robert Clement thirty pounds of lawfull money of England which he oweth me. Item I give and bequeath unto her sonne Thomas Clement thirty pounds of lawfull money of England which he oweth me. Item I give and bequeath unto her sonne Richard Clement thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him within one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto her daughter Eleanor Shore thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto her daughter Elizabeth Burges thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her within one yeare next after my decease. Item I give and bequeath unto all the sonnes of her sonne my cousin John Clement of Nufeild tenn pounds of lawfull money of England a peece to be paid unto them within one yeare next after my decease. And my mind and will is that if any of them shall happen to dye before his legacy shall become due and payable that then the same legacy shall be paid and equally devided betwixt the rest of his fellowes that shall be then liveing share and share a like. Item I give and bequeath unto all the daughters of the said John Clement twenty pounds of lawfull money of England a piece to be paid unto them within one yeare next after my decease. And my mind and will is that if any of them shall happen to dye before her legacy shall become due and payable that then the same legacy shall be paid and equally devided betwixt the rest of her fellowes that shalbe then liveing share and share alike. Item I give and bequeath unto Edward Clement sonne of my cousin Edward Clement deceased thirty pounds of lawfull money of England to be left in the hands of the aforesaid John Clement one of my executors hereafter named to the intent and purpose that he shall put out and dispose of the same to and for the best advantage of the said Edward Clement untill he shall attaine his full age of one and twenty yeares. And then to be paid unto him the said Edward Clement with what proffitt and advantage shall be made thereof. In case he the said Edward Clement shall soe long live. Item I give and bequeath unto all the children of my brother Henry Dungate tenn pounds of lawfull money of England to be equally devided amongst them. Item I give and bequeath unto all my servants that shall be dwelling with me att the time of my death twenty shillings a peice of lawfull money of England. Item I give and devise unto my cousin John Milles and his heirs and assignes for ever all my messuage or tenement barnes buildings orchards gardens and lands with their appurtenances scituate lying and being in the parish of Worth aforesaid to have and to hold the same unto the said John Milles his heires and assignes for ever upon condition that he the said John Milles doe and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto my aforesaid cousin John Clement of Nutfeild the full sume of three hundred pounds of lawfull money of England within one yeare next after my decease. And in case the said John Milles shall faile in the payment thereof then my mind and will is and I doe hereby give and devise the aforesaid messuage or tenement lands and premisses with their appurtenances unto the said John Clement his heires and assignes for ever to have and to hold the same unto the said John Clement his heires and assignes for ever. Item all the rest of my goods and chattells whatsoever (my debts and legacies being paid and funerall expences discharged) I give and bequeath unto the said John Clement and John Milles who I make joynt executors of this my last will and Testament hereby revoaking all former wills by me made. And my mind will and desire is that in case my personall estate shall not extend to and be worth soe much as will fully satisfy and pay my debts and legacies aforesaid that then one moiety of soe much as shall remaine unsatisfied and paid shall be paid out of my messuage or tenement lands and premisses aforesaid by the said John Milles. And the other moiety thereof by the said John Clement out of his three hundred pounds given as aforesaid. And I doe hereby make and appoint my cousin Nicholas Underhill and my cousin John Feldwicke overseers of this my last will and Testament desiring them as much as in them lye to see the same performed. And I doe give to each of them for their care herein twenty shillings of lawfull money of England. In witnes whereof I the said Anne Dungate have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written. The marke of the said Anne Dungate.
