This is the last Will and Testament of me William Brooker of Black Water in the parish of Worth in the County of Sussex farmer made the seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six that is to say First I desire and direct that all my just debts funeral expences and probate of this my last Will and Testament be fully paid and satisfied by my executors hereinafter named and I do hereby give and bequeath the sum of twenty five pounds a year yearly (being the interest of five hundred pounds at five per cent which said five hundred pounds are now in the stocks) unto my beloved wife Sarah during the term of her natural life to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named after my decease. I give and bequeath the aforesaid sum of five hundred pounds which are now in the stocks after the decease of my wife unto my four sons that is to say William, John, James and Thomas to be equally divided between them share and share alike. I give and bequeath the sum of eighty pounds unto my daughter Sarah wife of William Brooker to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds unto my daughter Mary wife of Robert Dench to be paid to her by my exors hereinafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds unto my daughter Elizabeth wife of John Dancey? to be paid to her by my executors hereinafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds unto my daughter Ann wife of George Rice to be paid to her by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of five pounds a year unto my daughter Jane wife of Thomas Potter during the term of her natural life to be paid to her yearly by my executors hereafter named after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds in trust unto my executors hereafter named to be put out to use to any person or persons that will give the most interest for the same with proper security for the payment of the said five pounds a year given to my daughter Jane as aforesaid and if the interest of the aforesaid hundred pounds shall not be so much as five pounds a year then the said five pounds a year must be made up out of the one hundred pounds principal which is in the hands of my executors hereinafter named if my said daughter Jane should have any heir or heirs from her body I give and bequeath the remainder of the one hundred pounds which is in the hands of my executors in trust unto the heir or heirs of the body of my daughter Jane to be equally divided between them share and share alike to be paid to them by my executors hereafter named immediately after the decease of my daughter Jane but if my daughter Jane should not have any heirs or heir from her body I give and bequeath the remainder of the one hundred pounds aforesaid which is in the hands of my executors in trust unto my sons and daughters that is to say William, John, James and Thomas, Sarah, Mary, Elizabeth and Ann to be equally divided between them share and share alike to be paid to them by my executors hereafter named immediately after the decease of my daughter Jane. I give and bequeath the sum of forty pounds unto my son John Brooker to be paid to him by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of seventy pounds unto my son James Brooker to be paid to him by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath the sum of seventy pounds unto my son Thomas Brooker to be paid to him by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath one pair of my best sheets unto my son James Brooker to be delivered to him by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath one pair of my best sheets unto my son Thomas Brooker to be delivered to him by my executors hereafter named at twelve months after my decease. I give and bequeath all the rest of my linen and household goods unto my beloved wife for her use and to sell if the interest of the five hundred pounds aforesaid should not be enough to support and maintain her to the grave. I give the remainder of my linen if any after the decease of my wife unto my daughters which shall be living at the decease of my wife. I give the remainder of my goods if any after the decease of my wife unto my sons which shall be living at the decease of my wife. I give and bequeath unto my two executors hereinafter named full power to pay themselves their lawful expenses out of my effects selling of my effects and the settling of this my last Will and Testament. I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my whole property whether moneys or security for money or whatsoever else unto my four sons that is to say William Brooker, John Brooker, James Brooker and Thomas Brooker to be equally divided between them share and share alike to be paid to them by my executors hereinafter named at twelve months next after my decease and I do hereby nominate and appoint my two sons William Brooker and James Brooker executors to this my last Will and Testament. I do hereby give them full power with desire to settle all things according to my Will and I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me heretofore made and I do declare this only and no other to be my last Will and Testament. in witness whereof I the said William Brooker the testator have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper set my hand and seal (that is to say) my hand to the bottom and my seal to the top of the first sheet and my hand and seal to this second and last sheet thereof the day and year first written. Signed sealed published and declared by the said William Brooker the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses to the same Thos Cooper; William Peskett

This Will was proved at London the fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven before the Worshipful Thomas Edwards, Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne, Knight, Doctor of Laws, Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of William Brooker and James Brooker the sons of the deceased and the executors named in the said Will to whom admon was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased being first sworn duly to administer.
