Will of John Skinner of Frant

In the Name of God Amen I John Skinner of ffant Allis frant in the County of Sussex Yeoman being of sound and disposing Mind and Memory praised be God for the same And considering the Certainty of Death and the Uncertainty of the time thereof and being desireous to settle that Estate that God in Mercy hath bestowed on me do make my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say first and Principally I commend my Soul to God who gave it me And my Body I commit to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried in such Christian manner as my Executor and Executrix hereafter named shall think fit Imprimis I give and devise all my Messuage farm and Lands called Cresbetts conteyning by Estimation fifteen Acres be the same more or less with the Appurtenances situate lying in the Parish of fant Allis frant aforesaid Unto Jane my loving Wife for and during her natural Life And alsoe another Parcell of Land lying in Rotherfield I give and devise unto Jane my loving Wife for and during her natural Life And from and after her decease I give and devise the aforesaid two Parcells Messuage Land and Premises unto my Son John Skinner and to his Heirs for ever And also my Will and Desire is that if the aforesaid Jane my loveing Wife do marry My Will and Desire is that it shall and my be lawfull to and for my Son John Skinner to have take possess and enjoy the two before mentioned Messuages Lands and Premises given to her for and during her natural Life or Widowhood should she so long continue Also I will give and bequeath several Legacies unto my four Daughters in manner as followes first I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Skinner the Sum of One hundred pound of good and lawfull money of Great Britaine to be paid her by my Executor and Executrix in manner and forme following (Viz) fifty pounds one part thereof when She shall attaine to the Age of One and twenty years and fifty pound the other part within one Month next after my Wives decease Also I give unto Elizabeth Sarah and Jane Skinner One hundred pound a piece in like manner as aforesaid viz fifty pounds a piece when they shall attaine to their several Ages of One and twenty years and fifty pound the other part to be paid by my Executor and Executrix within one Month next after my Wives decease But my Desire and Will is if any of my Daughters Mary Elizabeth Jane and Sarah happen to die before they shall attaine to their respective Ages of One and twenty years their Part shall be equally divided between the Survivors that shall so overlive the other and my Son John Skinner shall come Share and Share alike with the Survivors and the other fifty pound that my aforesaid Daughters shall have after their Mother’s decease shall be equally divided amongst the Survivors as before directed And my Desire and Will is that my Executor and Executrix shall take Care and provide for my Children before named untill they shall attaine to their several Ages of One and twenty years or untill they are or can provide for themselves All the Rest of my Goods and Personal Estate I give and bequeath unto Jane my loving Wife and John Skinner my Son whom I make sole Executor and Executrix desiring them to pay my Debts ffuneral Charges Probation of this my Will and Legacyes for my said Daughters first paid and satisfyed And I doe hereby make ordeyne constitute and appoint my loving Brother Robert Skinner Executor or Trustee of this my last Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke disannull and make void all former Wills by me heretofore made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I the said John Skinner the Testator to this my last Will and Testament being written on one Sheet of Paper have sett my hand and seal the Seventeenth of May in the fift year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britian france and Ireland King Defender of the ffaith Annoq Dm 1732 The marke of John Skinner the Testator Sealed Signed published and declared by the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us The marke of Richard Butcher.
