Whitehall, April 19, 1806. WHereas it has been humbly represented to the King, that on the Night of Monday the 31st of March last, between the Hours of Eight and Nine o'Clock, an Oat Stack, the Property of Mr. Nicholas Willard, jun. situate on his Premises, in the Parish of Eastdean, in the County of Sussex, was discovered to be on Fire, and was entirely consumed, and that there is every Reason to believe the same was wilfully and maliciously set on Fire by some evil-minded Person or Persons; His Majesty, for the better apprehending and bringing to Justice the Persons concerned in the Felony above, mentioned, is hereby pleased to promise His most gracious Pardon to any one of them, (except the Person who actually set Fire to the said Oat Slack, ) who shall discover his or their Accomplice or Accomplices therein, so that he, she, or they may be apprehended and convicted thereof. SPENCER. And. as a further Encouragement, a Reward of FIFTT POUNDS is hereby offered by the said Mr. Nicholas Willard, jun. and the Sum of FIFTY POUNDS by the Prosecution Society at Eastbourne, to any Person making such Discovery as aforesaid, (except as is before excepted, ) to be paid on the Conviction of any one or more of the Offenders.
