This is the last Will and Testament of me Joshua Whiting of Midhurst in the County of Sussex Esquire ffirst I give and Devise All that Dwelling house Coal Yard and Erections thereon Garden and Premises situate at Kingston Crescent at Portsea in the County of Southampton To hold unto my ffather Joseph Whiting for and during the Term of his natural life and after his decease I bequeath the same for the term of twenty one Years unto my Brother Joseph Steward Whiting he keeping the same in good and tenantable repair And from and after the Expiration of that Term I give and devise the same Premises unto my two Children To hold to them their Heirs and Assigns as Tenants in Common and not as joint Tenants Also I give and devise unto my two Children Elizabeth Mary Whiting and William George ffrancis Whiting my other two Houses situate at Kingston Crescent aforesaid together with the Piece of Land adjoining the Eastermost House And also all that Parcel of Land with the House and Erections thereon situate at Stamshouse in the Island of Portsea aforesaid To hold to them their Heirs and Assigns as Tenants in Common Also I give and bequeath to my loving Wife Elizabeth Sarah Whiting the Dividends Interest and Proceeds of all my ffunded Property during her Widowhood she defraying thereout the Costs Charges and Expences of Educating Maintaining and Cloathing my said Children during their respective Minorities and on their attaining their respective Ages of twenty one Years I give and bequeath all my said ffunded Property unto and equally between them Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife all my Household Goods Plate Linen & China for her use during her Widowhood and at her Decease or Marriage which shall first happen I give and bequeath the same unto and equally between my said two Children and in case of the Decease of both of my said two Children I give Devise and bequeath the whole of my Real and Personal Estate hereinbefore disposed of as follows (that is to say) one mOiety thereof unto my said Brother his Heirs Exors Admors and assigns and the remaining moiety unto the Surviving Children of my late Brother Captn William Whiting To hold to them their Exors Admors and Assigns as Tenants in Common My Cloaths I give to my said Brother Joseph Steward Whiting And I give unto my said wife my Gold Watch Chain and Seals And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said Brother Joseph Steward Whiting and my friend William Christie Esquire of South Sea Lodge in the County opf Southampton Exors and Trustees of this my Will and Guardians to my Children during their respective Minorities In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this thirteenth Day of August 1817 Jos: Whiting
