Will of George Stokes of Playden

In the Name of God Amen I George Stokes Rector of Playden in the County of Sussex doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner following first I give my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executor herein after named And what Temporal Estate God has blessed me with I dispose of as follows Imprimis I give devise and bequeath All my Estate both Reall and Personall and all that the Perpetual Advowson Donation Collation Presentation and Right of Patronage of the Rectory or Parochial Church of Playden alias Plaiden in the County aforesaid unto my loving brother Anthony Stokes of Beddingham in the County aforesaid Clerke and his heires and Assigns forever paying out of the same the Guifts and Legacys by me hereafter given Vizt To my Honoured Father George Stokes to my loving brother George Mace of Witsham in the County of Kent and to Edward Wilson of Rye in the said County of Sussex Clerke twenty shillings apiece to buy each of them a Ring in remembrance of me to be paid within one month after my decease Also I give and bequeath to George Edward and Mary children of my said brother George Mace by my sister Mary and to Anna Maria Stokes daughter of my brother Ashby Stokes deceased twenty pounds apiece to be paid to them and every one of them when they shall attain the age of one and Twenty Years and if any one of them shall happen to dye before they attain that age my Will and mind is his or her part soe dying shall be equally divided amongst the Survivours Item I make my said brother Anthony Stokes my Nominee for my Policie in the Amicable Societie for Perpetual Assuarance in London And I give to him all my Right clayme and Interest therein And I make him the said Anthony Stokes my Sole Executor to this my last Will and Testament paying my debts Legacys and funerall expences In witness whereof I have hereunto putt my hand and Seale Revoking all former Wills by me made the Twenty fourth day of January 1710 _ Geo Stokes
