In the name of God Amen this 24th day of October in the year of our Lord 1669 and one and twentieth year of the reign of our sovereign lord King Charles the second by the (obscured) of God of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith, I Patrick Hackett of Brighthelmstone in the county of Sussex ? (moseoz?) being ? and ? in body but of good and perfect memory thanks be given to God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in M? and form following And do with ? ? and I willing minds ? of my soul into the hands of God my maker ? and ?ly ? that through the ? of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I shall receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins. And my body I commit unto the earth from ? ?ontly to be buried in Christian burial when it shall please God to put to an end to this temporal life And as for my ? goods that god hath in money given me I would have them ? in manner and form following And ? I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Hackett five shillings and sixpence of lawful English money to be paid him by my executors hereafter named in six months after my ? Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Bryant the sum of ten shillings and to her child one shilling of like lawful money of England to be paid in six months after my decease. Item I do give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Millnor ten shillings of like lawful money of England to be paid in like manner Item I give and bequeath unto Mary Hackett my loving wife the som of five(?) pounds of lawful money of England to be paid her in six months after my decease Item all the rest of my goods chattels household stuff ? bonds together with my ?onall ? my ? and ? and funeral expenses and the approving of my will being all paid and ? I give and bequeath unto my son George Hackett and Thomas Penalls to be equally divided between them And I so make the said George Hackett and Thomas Penalls to be sole executors of this my last will and testament doubting not but that they will perform the same accordingly Thus ? and making void all wills whatsoever formerly by me made I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the day and year abovewritten.

Memorandum before the ? hereof it is my will and full meaning that whereas I have in this my abovewritten will given unto Mary Hackett my wife the sum of five(?) pounds ? in this I thou(?) ? before the seventh of November next ? and Thomas Adams the son of my said wife should with ? the forty shillings and from him for my ? from my ? before ? then my will is that my said wife mary Hackett shall have but three pounds paid her in six months after my decease for the full legacy to her in this will.
