Will of Dinah Benge of Lewes

This is the last Will and Testament of me Dinah Benge of Lewes in the County of Sussex Spinster first after Recommending my Soul to God who gave it and my Body to the Earth to be decently Interred at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter named I give my Worldly Estate as follows (that is to say) I give unto my Sister Elizabeth Barham One Annuity of five Pounds a Year for her life to Commence and be paid from One Year after my decease and her receipt only to be a sufficient discharge to my Executrix for the same Provided Nevertheless and my Will and Mind is hereby declared that in Case my said Sister Barham shall not be Satisfyed with the Annuity of Ten Pounds a Year given her for life by my late Mother’s Will and accept of the same accordingly and Attempt to put my Executrix to any sort of trouble and Expence on any pretended Claim of Right to any part of my late Mother’s Estate that then and in such Case my said Annuity given her as aforesaid shall be Void and She to receive no sort of benefit from this my Will Also I give unto my good freind Mrs Elizabeth Norton and unto my Brothers Mr William Henry Benge and Mr Edward Benge each a Gold Ring in Remembrance of me And Lastly all the Rest residue and Remainder of my Ready Money Securities for Money Goods Chattells and Personal Estate whatsoever I die Possessed of I Give and bequeath the same unto my Sister Ann Maria Benge whom I make and Appoint Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in One Sheet of Paper set my hand and Seal this twenty Second day of April in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventy One _ Dinah Benge
