THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me John Jenner of Plumpton in the County of Sussex Yeoman I direct that all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid and satisfied Also I give and bequeath unto my nephew William Hobden the legacy or sum of twenty pounds Also I give and bequeath all other my nephews and nieces being children of my late brother Robert Jenner or of my late sister Elizabeth Hobden the legacies or sums of Ten pounds cash Also I give and bequeath unto Mary Coppard daughter of William and Sarah Ann Coppard of Horsted Keynes the Legacy or sum of Fifty pounds free and clear of and from the Legacy duty which I direct shall be paid out of my residuary personal estate Also I give and devise unto my nieces Mary Godley the wife of Thomas Godley of Brighton in the County of Sussex Mealman and Elizabeth Harland of Lindfield in the County of Sussex Widow all my messuage farm lands and other copyhold premises situate in the Parish of Plumpton aforesaid which formerly surrendered to the use of my Will and also all other of my Copy-hold hereditaments and all other my real estate whatsoever and wheresoever To hold the same with their appurtenances unto and to the use of the said Mary Godley and Elizabeth Harland as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants and their several and respective heirs and assigns for ever Also I give and bequeath all my household furniture goods chattels money in the Public stocks of funds securities monies and effects and the Rest and Residue of my Personal Estate whatsoever and whereso ever unto the said Mary Godley and Elizabeth Harland as Tenants in Common not as joint tenants and their several and respective executors administrators and assigns and I do hereby declare that the receipt of receipts in writing of the said Mary Godley (notwithstanding the present or any future Coverture given conjointly with the said Elizabeth Harland or her heirs executors administrators or assigns shall be good sufficient and effectual discharge to any purchaser or purchasers of my said Copyhold or real estate or any part or parts thereof or to any purchaser or purchasers of any part or parts of my said personal estate or any of my debtors for the money therein mentioned or acknowledged to be received who shall not be afterwards be liable to see to the application thereof and I hereby revoke all other wills by me made And I do hereby appoint the said Mary Godley and Elizabeth Harland Executrices of this my Will and i do hereby declare this only to be my last Will Testament for witness whereof I the said John Jenner the Testator have hereunto set my hand and seal on the thirtieth day of June One thousand eight hundred and forty nine - John Jenner – Signed sealed published and declared by the said John Jenner the Testator as and to his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time and we have attested and subscribed the above written will in the presence of the said Testator and of each other – Stephen Duckwell – Richd Edwards

PROVED at London the 20th September 1849 before the Worshipful Robert Thomas Pratt Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oaths of Mary Godley (wife of Thomas Godley) and Elizabeth Harland widow the Nieces the Executrixes to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
