Will of Grace Elven of Piddinghoe

Date signed: 27 Aug 1656, Probate date: 07 Apr 1658

This is the last will & testament of me Grace Elven of Peddinghoe in the County of Sussex widdowe made the seven and twentieth day of August in the yeare of our Lord God one thowsand six hundred fifty and six being (God be thanked) of perfect sence and memory though weake and ill in bodie wherein after the bequeathing of my soule into the hands of Allmighty God my Creator redeemer and sanctifier and my body into the earth in hope of resurrecon to eternall liefe through the meritts of Jesus Chirist my saviour my worldly goods I dispose of as it followeth. Inprimis to my sonne William Elven I give five pounds of good and lawfull money. Item to William the sonne of my foresaid sonne William I give five pounds more of like lawfull money to be paid unto his said father for the use and benifitt of the said William. Item I give all my howsehold stuffe to be equally devided betweene my aforesaid sonne and my three daughters Grace, Ann and Jone all the rest of my moneys and goods I give unto my aforesaid daughters to be equally devided betweene them dureing their naturall liefes and after their decease to their children lawfully begotten. And of this my will and testament I make my foresaid daughters Grace, Ann and Jone my ioynt executors. In token that this is my last will and testament I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare above written. Grace Elven her mke.
