Will of John Juniper of Cuckfield

This is the last will and testament of John Juniper of cuckfield in the county of Sussex Wheelwright as follows (that is to say) improves my will act and direct that all my just debts funeral and testimony expense be fully paid and satisfied by my executors here after named from I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Ann Juniper all my household goods, household furniture stock in trade and all other my estate and effects of what nature or kind sower and whereover which I my die possessed of interest in or entitled unto. To hold unto my said wife Ann Juniper for the and during the term of her natural life for her support and maintenance. And my will is that the business of a wheelwright which I now follow shall be carried on by my son Charles Juniper for the benefit of my said wife and after her decease my will further is that my son Charles Juniper shall succeed to the said business for his own use and benefit he paying for the stock and utensils in trade as the same shall be valued and appraised by two impartial here said the to be named by my said son Charles Juniper and the other by my son John Juniper and the money thereby adding together with all other sum and sums of money which shall use and be made after the decease of my said wife by the sale and disposition of my household goods and other effects (except the sum of twenty pounds which I am hereby give and bequeath to my said son Charles Juniper) I direct that the same shall be paid to and equally divided between and amongst all and every my sons and daughters namely the said John Juniper Ann wife of John White Elizabeth the wife of George Tester Samuel Juniper Sarah Juniper and the said Charles Juniper share and these alike and which I do hereby give and bequeath to the accordingly and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said sons John Juniper and Charles Juniper joint executors. In trust of this my will hereby working and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and I declare this only to be and contain my last will and testament, In writing whereof I the said John Juniper the testator have accounts at my hand and seal the twenty ninth day of April in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and seven /- the mark + and seal of John Juniper – signed sealed published and declared by the said John Juniper the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other here herewith subscribed our name as witnesses Michael Basehurst William Norfee

The will of John Juniper late of Cuckfield within the archdeannary of Lewes deceased was proved the fifth day of March in the Year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and eight before the reverend Edward Raynes Clerk Surrogate and so forth upon the both of Charles Juniper one of the executors in the said will named to whom was committed the administration of the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased the first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same and so forth (sworn Also) that the goods chattels and credits that do not amount in value unto two hundred pounds – power being reserved of gratuity the like coming into John Juniper the other executor in the said will named when he shall come in due form of law to require the same
