In the name of God Amen the second day of April in the eighteenth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God Kinge of England Scotland ffrance and Ireland Defender of the faith etc Anoq. Dmi Christi 1666 I Richard Markewicke of Hamsey in the County of Sussex yeoman being sicke of body but of good and p[er]fect memory (Almighty God bee praised) revokeing all former wills by mee at any time heretofore made Do make and ordayne this my last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)

First I commend my soule into the hands of God my maker hopeing assuredly through the only merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour, to bee made p[ar]taker of life everlasting. And I commend my body to the earth from whence it came to bee buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And toucing the diſposicon of such worldly goods and p[er]sonall estate wherew[i]th it hath pleassed Almighty God to blesse mee w[i]thall To thend noe untimely contoversies variance or difference may after my decease bee raised(?) or arise Concerning the same And to thend I may take care for the satisfying of my iust and due debts, And to reward such as I have found carefull of mee, I disposse thereof as followeth

Imprimis I give and bequeath to my brother Willm Markewicke the sume of Twenty pounds

Item I give and bequeath to my sisster Mary Hawkins the relicte and widow of Samuel Hawkins the sume of Twenty pounds

Item I give and bequeath to my sister Dorothy being the wife of Thomas Moore the sume of twenty pounds

Item I give and bequeath to my sister Anne the relicte of Nicholas Copperd and now wife of Jasper Saunders the sume of twenty pounds

Item I give and bequeath to my Nephew Thomas Copperd only sonne of Thomas Copperd of Cha ly in the County aforsaid yeoman the sume of Twenty pounds

Item I give and bequeath to Richard Copperd the only sonne of Nicholas Copperd deceased the sume of Twenty shillings

Item I give and bequeath to my Neeces Jane Anne and Mary Copperd the three daughters of the aforesaid Nicholas Copperd, and sisters of the said Richard Copperd the sume of three pounds vizt to each of them twenty shillings.

Item I give and bequeath to my brothers ffrancis Markewicke the sume of ffive shillings

All wch legacies my will and mende is shalbee paid unto such of them respectively wthin one yeare after my decease by my Executors hereafter named

All the rest of my estate whatsoever both reall & pſonall my debts and faaa funerall expences being paid and discharged I give and bequeath to My Nephew Richard Moore being the eldest sonne of my brother in law Thomas Moore and Dorothy his wife and his heires for ever [whom] I make the sole Executor of this my last will and testament

And I further constitute and ordyne my loveinge brother Thomas Moore of Hamsey in the County of Sussex yeoman, And Richard Moore of Barcombe in the county aforesaid yeoman (ffather and Uncle of my said Executor) to bee Executors in trust of this my last will and testament dureing the minority of my said execut executor

And further I doe hereby give unto my Executor in trust full power and authority to pay all such legacies and trusts to such pson and psons as in and by this my last will and testament I have given and bequeathed the sume to And also to receave and take up all such debts and sume and sumes of money wch are any wayes due unto mee upon bond or otherwise sume any pson of psons whatsoever and to imploy the same to and for the use of my said executor

And lastly my will and meaning is that the said Executors in trust of this my last will and Testament shall give and render an receipt of all such reall and psonall estate wch shall ny waies come to their hands by vertue of their Executorship in trust as aforesaid unto my said ~ Executor when hee shall attaine unto the age of Twenty and one yeares

In Witness whereof to this my last will and testament Contayned in two sheets of pap[er] I have sett my hand and seale the day and yeere first above written
