The King has been graciously pleased to grant unto James Cowne, Esq; eldest Son of James Cowne, of Heathfield Lodge, Acton, in the County of Middlesex, Esq; His Royal Licence and Authority, that he and his Issue may take and use the Surnames of Tuder and Nelthorpe only, and bear the Arms of Nelthorpe quarterly with the Arms of Tuder, out of grateful and affectionate Respect to the Memory of his maternal Great Aunt Elizabeth Nelthorpe, late of Sedgwick Paik, in the County of Sussex, Spinster, deceased, and in Compliance with an Injunction contained in her Will; such Arms being first duly exemplified according to the Laws of Arms, and recorded in the Herald's Office, otherwise His Majesty's Royal Licences and Permission to be void and of none effect. And also to order, that this His Majesty's Royal Concession, and Declaration be registered in His College of Arms.
