In the Name of God Amen. I, Margaret Potten of Burwash in the County of Sussex, Widow, being in good health of body and sound and disposing of mind, memory and understanding, praised be Almighty God for the same, do this twelfth day of March in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Five make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I will and direct that all my just debts, funeral expenses, the charges of proving this my Will and other incidental expenses be in the first place fully paid and satisfied, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Potten the sum of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid her by my Executor hereinafter named within one month after my decease and subject to the payment thereof and also to the payment of my said just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving this my Will and other incidental expenses I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Potten his Executors Administrators and Assigns All and every my ready monies and securities for money, monies in the public stocks or bonds, household goods, implements of household, plate, linen, china, books, goods, chattels, cattle, husbandary tackle, debts, effects and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature, kind or quality soever the same whereof I shall die possessed and which shall be any ways due owing or belonging to me at the time of my decease and all my Estate and Interest thereon To hold the same and every part thereof so subject and aforesaid unto and to the use of him my said son Thomas Potten and his Executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely and for ever. And I do hereby make, nominate, constitute and appoint my said son Thomas Potten sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke and make void all former and others Wills and codicils by me at any time or direct heretofore made. In Witness whereof I the said Margaret Potten, the Testatrix, have to this my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of paper set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

Signed, Sealed, Published and Declared by the said Margaret Potten as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witness thereto in the presence of her and in the presence of each other.

The Will of Margaret Potten, late of Burwash within the Archdeaconary of Lewes, Widow deceased, was proved the Twenty Eighth day of April in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Four before the Reverend William Gwynne, Clerk Surrogate, and soforth upon the oath of Thomas Potten the sole Executor named in the said Will to whom was committed the Administration of the Goods etc he being first sworn well and faithfully to Administer the same and soforth also that the Goods Chattels and Credits etc do not amount in value unto three hundred Pounds.
